After both the US and Canada Cadbury Adams new operating systems implementations, the project managers hosted dinners for their respective teams. They reviewed the challenges they had faced and applauded the personal sacrifices and wins achieved, highlighting those that were firsts for the organizations (locally and globally). They also noted the personal and professional growth that people had gained. As a token of appreciation each team member was given a small gift with the logo of the project engraved on it.
Their presentations were heartfelt, suited to their personalities, and demonstrated sincere appreciation for their team members. These leaders understood the importance of recognition and how it transcends all cultures, geographies, and project types, motivating people to give their best.
